Satire and Sci-Fi

     I listened to the "Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy," and it was pretty strange. However, it was from the 1970s, so the people back then probably thought it was fun.  The topic is exploring the present by placing characters in an imaginary future. Arthur Dent seems like the perfect example of an average guy from that time. He fits the topic because this average guy goes into space on a stolen spaceship after the Earth is destroyed. The story is full of humor and adventure, but I'm sure there is a lot of symbolism about politics of that time, but I do not understand them.
