Woman in Comics

I read "Ms.Marvel" by Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona. This comic is about Kamala Khan who is a teenage girl from a Muslim family that moved to the US from Pakistan. She has lived here her whole life and wants to be like all the other kids. She cannot eat meat or drink alcohol because of her religion. He hair and eyes are dark brown, but she wishes for blonde hair and blue eyes like her friend Zoe and Captain Marvel.

She likes to draw fanfiction about Captain Marvel and Iron Man and pretends she is part of their world. Her parents are overprotective and would not let her go to a party because they think there will be alcohol and wild boys. Kamala got angry with her parents and sneaked out to the party. One boy tricked her into drinking a sip of Vodka (alcohol) and juice. Her friend Bruno came to her rescue but she did not want to be treated like a kid.

She ran off alone and a weird fog surrounded her. She passed out and when she woke up Captain Marvel, Iron Man, and Captain America. They agree to grant her wishes to become a superhero, but they told her to be careful what she wished for. In the last page, Kamala breaks out of a cocoon and stands up. Now she is tall, with blonde hair, blue eyes, and a sexy superhero costume.

In the second episode, she is freaking out and she is excited. Zoe and her boyfriend are drunk, and she falls into the lake. Kamala turns into the superhero and saved her. None of her friends recognize her and take her picture because she is a superhero. She is Ms.Marvel.

The most important part of this is when Kamala realized that being Ms.Marvel did not make her happy. She thought that being tall, blonde, and sexy would make her happy, but the thing that made her happiest was saving her friend. This is a good comic to help girls to be happy the way they are.
